I used to have a blog which got updated only once in a year or since the last one year, once every month, although I have been blogging for more than 6 years now. I love writing but my consistency in the regularity of writing always depended on my temperament and mood swings. So when I came across this challenge in the second week of April, it did sound interesting. But then I was late by almost 12 days. It also set me wondering if I could cater to the requirement of two posts a day (since I had to make up for the 12 days I had lost out on). Would my mood swings let me stick through? But then wasn’t that a part of the challenge? Mood or no mood, I would still have to write. And I came to a conclusion that the challenge was actually of me against my own habits. I had to fight this one, for my own sake.
Sounds like you had a successful challenge, even with starting half way thorough! Hope you keep up your writing, although maybe at a bit slower pace.
Yes it sure was quite a success Kristen…hope it was the same for you. You're right, about slowing down my pace. Will keep writing at a consistent pace though.
Congratulations on completing the challenge, Vinodini! Wow–to pick it up 12 days in, and still complete it, even with power cuts! But yes, it does have "an addictive edge," as you put it so well. I too got quite obsessive about it, until one of my cousins (I was traveling all month, and visiting lots of family after a long time) said, "Next time, come to me without a computer or a mobil phone!"
I was so flat out during April that I didn't get to visit enough blogs Now that I know about yours, I will return. Do hope you keep blogging—if not quite so frenetically!
Wow, you sure earned that Survivor Badge! This co-host is damn proud of you! Really great job, and really great insight into how your writing process/moods work for and against each other. Really great Reflection! Thanks for joining us. Perhaps next year on Day 1 ? 😉
