I did my best, though. I mean, what more could I have done for her? I guarded her precious confidential stuff, her darkest secrets, incessantly – day and night. I had kept her safe throughout. The time when her jilted lover tried to avenge her by trying to sneak in and create trouble for her. Another event was when I had protected some of her really private photographs from being leaked. That would have landed her in some serious trouble, if not for me. And yet again, there was a time when her snoopy boss wanted to confirm if she was applying for jobs elsewhere. No sir – it is not so easy to crack in with me around. Also the time when she escaped a major scam – well, she was blissfully unaware of it though, but I still managed to save her without her knowledge. She even trusted me with her financial dealings, her bank details and other important documents. Not to mention the innumerable times she had irresponsibly exposed me to the world, risking trouble for both, her and me. We made through such carelessness on her part too without any untoward incident, just because I believed that we were meant to be together. I was with her throughout. Protecting her privacy. A loyal companion for life.
All was good till that long spell when she did not need me. Some stupid vacation she had left for. I know coz that was the last time I was of use to her, when she had to inform people that she would be away and inaccessible. And what did I get rewarded with when she returned? Memory loss? How the hell could she forget me?! And hello, excuse me…it was she who had chosen me with careful contemplation and not the other way round! Still, even after so many prompts she did not recollect someone as effortless yet dependable as me. Isn’t that ridiculous?! Utterly humiliating. What did she think I was? Just a bunch of stars strung together? She’s never going to find anyone better than me – for sure.
anyway,
Hahaa…having read your yday's post- I knew there will be a surprise at the end of it.
But could not guess wht it is..
Very interesting…
Yeah Vyoma, I did see that coming. After my last two posts people would have expected a surprise in the end.
Thank you!
I knew something was coming at the end, Vinodini! But, the password is a sweet surprise 🙂
And yes, even I love the 'incorrect' password quote you have shared at the end 🙂
I hope you've changed your password to 'incorrect' Ankita 😉
this happen to me lot of time, i think i also need to switch to Mr. Incorrect.
Hemu, not a bad idea – go ahead…saves you a lot of trouble 🙂
Ha ha, Vinodini, this is hilarious. I took the suggestion and select 'forgot password' for all my sites.
He he Usha ma'am… hope it helps you 🙂
I liked the twist.Very nice post. 🙂
Thank you Payal. Keep dropping by for more 🙂
oh lol that was an unexpected twist. Thank goodness for the forgot password prompt.
Yes Suzy, thank god for the forgot password prompt…much to the anger of the password!
LOL That was one twist I didn't expect 😛
Bhavya
My UBC Day 3 post
Hope you enjoyed it Bhavya 🙂
Haha! You never fail to get me back on your blog.
I'm thankful too, for the forget password prompt. Admire how you can write about anything and everything.
Also, did you know we are alumni of the same school?! I just read that today!:D
Thanks Soumyaa…glad I'm able to get you back here, time and again 🙂
Really…did we go to the same school?! Awesome…I think we know someone in common too from the same city. Check our common friends 🙂
I love the twists you give all your stories, Vinodini! Password, who would have thought! 🙂
He he thanks Aathira! Hope you enjoyed it.
hahha… that was very nicely written, loved the end.
Tina from The Sunny Side of Life
Thanks Tina. I'm happy you liked it.
This is where it gets tacky and vengeful. She dumped me as well. 😀
Tushar
Project Disavowed
Yeah Tushar – spoken like a true jilted lover, hasn't he?!
Your posts are so interesting! I loved reading this one. Nicely written and poor password!
Thanks Reema. Yeah it sure must have been a poor password for her to forget him!
I now feel bad for all those accounts I've clicked "Forgot password" for!
Great read! 🙂
Yeah Fuchsia…seems like you've been dumping lots of them too. Thank you. Do come again 🙂
Hahaha… that was a fun post! Happens with me all the time till I decided to make a document which has all the passwords. And the best is that I have password protected that document too. Wonder what will happen, if I forget the password to this password file 😀
Lol thanks Shilpa…I tried doing that on my phone once. Saving all passwords in one note on my phone, and finally lost all of them when the phone konked off! You better keep that one password safely 🙂
This was great…Likes the twist. Passwords are silent spectator of lots that are confidential 🙂
Thanks Jayanta. You said it so well…passwords are indeed silent spectators to our confidential stuff.
Fun 🙂 Yesterday I read another blog post about passwords written by a guy in Shanghai. He describes how he chooses passwords with messages that he wants to "hammer" into his head to change his life … The first was "iforgiveher" right after his girlfriend dumped him … and after typing it so many times he eventually forgave her …
Ah that sounds interesting Judy! 'Iforgiveher' is such a good password to actually forgive her and move on. Actually, I also have the habit of choosing passwords that are positive affirmations…just so they make my day 🙂 Thanks for coming over.
oh that was perfectly done!! I was thinking of something else all the time!! 😛
Thanks Nibz! Hope you enjoyed it 🙂
You kept me guessing till the end. Great post. Yes, passwords do rule our life that way. Forget what it is and you are doomed for life unless you can retrieve it.
Thank you Eloquent. You're right – passwords do rule our lives these days! You wouldn't rest till you retrieve it!
Ha ha ha.. There is no way on earth I could have imagined a real memory loss when he said that 😀 😀
Hehe Vinay, you thought it was a jilted lover, isn't it?
Lolzz… That was one funny post.. As usual an unexpected end.. 😉
Thanks Anushree! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
You played with our emotion with this one…lovely
He he thanks Chaitali…need a tissue? 😉
That's a funny one…quite a surprise.
I like the quote that you have shared in the end about passwords. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed it Kajal 🙂
And, with this post, you just made me laugh! I was thinking it would be a diary, but the password idea was too innovative 😉
He he pleasure to tickle you Shailaja! I often am cursed by my passwords. That's how I got inspired.
