While India boasts of a rich and vibrant culture, there are a few misconceptions the world has about India. This observation has been made on certain generalized assumptions one comes across while interacting with people outside India.

Source Who says we aren’t rich? |
India has also been ridiculously and falsely perceived as a poverty-stricken nation. Ridiculous assumption, specifically because the world is well aware of the royal heritage and background that this country originates from. Our historical monuments, rich cultural resources, and lifestyle are a testimony to the wealth of culture and riches this nation boasts of. So, the documentaries and photographs depicting the dreary poverty in India that you might have chanced upon are only one side of the story. This is the land of the aristocratic Tatas, Birlas, and Ambanis. Go on, Google them if you haven’t heard about them…Go on, read more of this on my guest post at Elly’s blog here.

I'm not ready, Vinodini, to go off to Elly's blog … I want to relate to your comment about how the world sees India. The world sees what the media portray and the media portray what sells and creates scandalous headlines. Who would be interested in sharing photos of a cultured productive society when you can show suffering in slums???? Lucky for us – there are so many Indian bloggers! HUGS <3
I so agree with you on this Judy! It is definitely a picture the media passionately portrays leading to misconceptions. I'm glad we have mediums like blogging which can clear these myths. Thanks for stopping by. I do hope you visit Elly's blog and read the whole post <3
