I wish she had walked away a long time ago. Better late than never.
Well, sometimes people cling to hope. And, that's why they delay their decision making. You're right, better late than never.
I wish she had walked away a long time ago. Better late than never.
To respect ourselves we need that inner power.. and that comes with time ! good one!
Thanks Nisha. Yes, self-respect does need a lot of resilience.
Good move, it was the right thing to do.
True. Sometimes you just got to do the right thing to get going ahead.
Walking away is not an easy thing to do until you reach that point of no return. Very well written. Loved your ending lines.
Suzy at Someday Somewhere
Thanks Suzy. I agree, it takes one to reach a point of saturation at times to walk away from the situation.
I wish she had left him long ago. No on deserves to be treated like this, family or not. Beautiful narration.
Thank you Raj. Absolutely, no one deserves to be treated like this.
Beautifully Penned !
Thank you Ananya.
We allow ourselves to remain in situations like this when we don't value ourselves enough, when we believe we don't deserve better. The day we decide we are worth more, it becomes easy to let go and move on. I'm glad she finally realized her self-worth.
It would be nice if you add social sharing buttons on your blog posts. That way, we can easily share your posts on Twitter etc., right from the post.
I agree, the day we decide we are worth better is when we find the courage to move on. Hey, I did have those social sharing buttons right under my posts…now that you're pointing it out…I realize that they've mysteriously disappeared! Got to check that one. Thanks for bringing it to my notice.
So glad she walked away, though I wished she had years prior! He didn't deserve her: she was too good for him! 😉 <3
Yes, Elly, but well sometimes one does get stuck in situations that take them a long time to come out of.
So powerful. Good for her walking away and leaving that lug. About time. Loved that last line about the remote. Well done!
Thanks Cat. Most of the times, we women, without realizing start getting manipulated like a remote control just coz of our caring nature.
Such a powerful one. I am glad she took the right call. Better be late than never.
Good that she finally took that step. No point in staying in such a lifeless and abusive relationship! A well written story 🙂
